From 25 April to 25 April 2026
The show The Coup d'État is not a revolution by Ascanio Celestini brings to the stage a clear and sharp reflection on the mechanisms of power and the fragilities of democracy.
With his unmistakable style, blending civil narration and irony, Celestini tells of "disciplined" men who intervene when the system jams, just like an instinctive gesture to unblock a faulty distributor. An everyday image that becomes a political metaphor: when order is imposed by force, the line between normality and rupture becomes thin.
The show plays on paradox and direct language to question the audience: when an action is accepted and applauded, is it really right? And what happens when violence emerges instead?
An intense and current monologue that invites reflection on the meaning of revolution, consensus, and collective responsibility.
A translation service in Italian Sign Language (LIS) will be available, provided by the Department of Social Policies and Health (Directorate of Services to the Person), carried out by the Cooperative Segni di Integrazione Lazio, to ensure the accessibility of the event.
