The Real Casa Santa dell'Annunziata Complex is located in the homonymous church near the Garibaldi Station in Naples, in the center.

Located in the Pendino district near Forcella, the Real Casa dell'Annunziata Complex is dedicated to the care of abandoned children.

The complex of the Real Casa Santa dell'Annunziata was originally composed, in 1318, by the church, a hospital, a convent and a hospice for foundlings. The pious work originated in 1304 on the initiative of two Neapolitan gentlemen, the brothers Nicolò and Jacopo Scondito who, in 1343, obtained the support of Queen Sancia of Majorca , wife of Roberto d'Angiò.

The work, enlarged in 1433 by the will of Giovanna II, collected substantial donations so as to give life, in 1577, to the Banco dell'Ave Gratia Plena which, between alternating and complex events, constituted the genesis of the Banco di Napoli.

The building of the Real Casa Santa dell'Annunziata complex has maintained its original structure despite being restored in 1700.

Even today it is possible to see the exposed wheel, the hole through which abandoned babies were inserted either out of misery or because they were illegitimate. The Basilica, built by the Angevins and later restored by Luigi Vanvitelli , after the Second World War was the subject of an important restoration due to the considerable damage suffered during the conflict.
