The rooms of the Museo Città di Cannara preserve a conspicuous collection of archaeological material coming from the excavation of Urvinum Hortense, near Collemancio, testifying to the occupation of the site from the pre-Roman age to the late Middle Ages. The Museum also houses a collection of medieval and modern pictorial and sculptural works from the main churches of the city and from some noble palaces.

The tour begins on the ground floor: in the first room you can discover a collection of wind and percussion musical instruments from the early 1900s, as well as period scores and photographs, which attest to the consolidated musical tradition of the city of Cannara. The archaeological itinerary begins on the same level, with a first room that houses pre-Roman and Roman archaeological material. But certainly the place of honor is reserved for the polychrome thermal mosaic coming from the thermal baths of Urvinum Hortense, of which it is also possible to enjoy a fascinating view from above. This mosaic dates back to the 1st-2nd century AD and is the largest find from the ancient Roman town hall. Along the four sides, surrounded by luxuriant vegetation, six pygmies with highly caricatured features are represented, victims of exotic animals.

Finally, next to the archaeological section, there are the art collections of the Civic Art Gallery. The frescoes torn in 1907 from the Church of the Madonna del Latte, also known as Santa Maria delle Fontanelle, near Collemancio, occupy an entire room.
